How to use Samsung Pay
Where can I use Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay is accepted at any of the millions of stores that accept contactless payments.
You can pay using Visa at VISA merchants worldwide and pay using eftpos at eftpos merchants in Australia. Some merchants may not accept eftpos contactless payments but you can switch between paying with Visa or eftpos on your Heritage card at any time.
What’s the difference between Samsung Pay with eftpos or Visa?

How do I change my default Samsung Pay payment method from Visa to eftpos?
When you add your eligible debit card to Samsung Pay, the card defaults to VISA.
To change the default to eftpos, swipe up to open Samsung Pay, select your eligible debit card and select eftpos.
Note: If you previously added your eligible debit card to Samsung Pay and the eftpos option is not presented, you will need to delete and re-add your card on the Samsung Pay app. When re-adding, tap ‘Add Card’ and follow the prompts. Once completed, you will be able to select VISA or eftpos.

Can I switch between my savings and credit account when I pay with Samsung Pay?
When using Samsung pay, your payments will always come out of your credit linked account with Heritage.
You may have set up for the savings and credit options on your Debit Card to be linked to different accounts with Heritage.
You’ll still get the benefits of choosing eftpos or Visa with Samsung Pay but the payment will only come out of your credit linked account.

Does Samsung Pay use my actual card details?
No. Samsung does not store customers’ personal / payment information on a Samsung server or on their device.
Your payment information will continue to be managed by Heritage Bank.
Only a device-specific Token, which is used to replace their sensitive payment information is stored on the device. This token is what is used to make payments with Samsung Pay.
How many cards can I register for Samsung Pay?
Will I continue to earn loyalty or rewards benefits from my credit and debit card(s) using Samsung Pay?
What if my device is lost or stolen?
You should call us immediately on 13 14 22 and we can assist you to suspend or delete your Heritage card/s.
Your payment information is not accessible without your fingerprint or Samsung Pay PIN. For added security, the Samsung Find My Mobile service can remotely lock or erase your payment cards in Samsung Pay.*
My Samsung Pay isn’t working.
If you are having issues with setting up Samsung Pay, check you are adding an active Heritage Visa Card that has the payWave symbol.
You will also need to be connected to the internet when adding a payment card.
If you have an international payment block on your card, this will also block the card from being loaded.

What is tokenization with Samsung Pay?
Tokenisation is an extra layer of security, developed by Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
It creates a unique set of numbers for each new transaction, so your real card number is never used from Samsung Pay. Your card number cannot be copied or skimmed at the time of your transaction.
Tokens are used to protect your card details and payment information which reduces the security risks that comes with plastic cards.
What if my physical Visa card is lost or stolen?
