2023 Palmwoods Community Branch Sponsorship Evening

1 August 2023

The Palmwoods area is the big winner again this year after Heritage Palmwoods Community Branch handed out $269,000 in funding grants in its annual community sponsorship round.

This year, more than 30 community groups from Palmwoods and surrounding areas shared in the staggering amount to support important community events and initiatives.

One of the major community projects to benefit is Palmwoods Skate Park which received $99,000 towards construction of a shade sail for the park. The project is a joint venture between  and Sunshine Coast Council addressing calls from the public for improved facilities at popular venue.

Heritage Palmwoods Community Branch is a joint venture between Heritage Bank and the local community, represented by Palmwoods Community Branch Ltd (PCB). Under the Heritage community branch model, profits are shared between Heritage and PCB. PCB’s share of the profits then goes back to the community via grants or sponsorships to deserving local organisations and events.

Since opening in 2006, Heritage Palmwoods Community Branch has injected over $10.5 million back into the community through grants, sponsorships, local employment and more.

Kaye Ross, Heritage Bank National Manager – Community Branches said, “Community branches offer a unique opportunity for people to create a positive impact for their region, simply by doing their everyday banking with us.

“Our model provides an ideal way to keep local banking services for smaller communities and give back – it’s our people first ethos in action.”

PCB Director Audrey Lyttle thanked the community supporting the branch on behalf of the PCB Board and Heritage Palmwoods team.

“The operations of the branch would not be possible without community support,” Mrs Lyttle said.

“It allows us to give back to our community in the form of our community sponsorships.

“The more our branch is supported, the more we can contribute to our wonderful community.”
