The Heritage Bank Charitable Foundation places great importance on the selection of its charity partners and celebrating the positive impacts their programs have on people in need.

That’s why each year the Foundation puts together an Impact Report in relation to the recipients of its annual grants, documenting what the programs have achieved.

The latest report covers the activities undertaken via Foundation’s second round of grants, covering the period November 2021 to November 2022

Charitable Foundation Executive Officer Paul Olds said, “As the custodian of the generosity received from the Foundation’s supporters, we place great importance on the selection of our charity partners.  This is never an easy task with so many outstanding charities positive impacting the lives of Australian’s who need a hand up.

“In our Impact Report, we are delighted to acknowledge and showcase the exceptional work of our charity partners. “

The $90,000 in grant funding awarded in the second round of grants was used to directly assist 6,102 Australia’s who needed a hand up.

Details of the impacts of the five grants are as follows:

  • 2,449 young children on the Darling Downs attended the Bravehearts Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure Show
  • The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation sent four specialist teams on visits to Palm Island to deliver Early Language and Literacy (EL&L) training, with four local teachers aides undertaking EL&L training and 143 literacy packs distributed.
  • 450 people received critical food assistance from the South Burnett Pantry
  • Baby Give Back helped improve the health of 1,500 mums and newborns by supplying them with essential items when leaving hospital
  • 263 at-risk young people from Dalby, Chinchilla, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg and Kingaroy attended five Youth Insearch camps and participated in 85 key learning sessions.

“We are very proud to support their efforts on the frontline, doing the heavy lifting to make Australia a better place. We are even prouder to highlight how they have maximised our support to contribute to growing stronger communities,” Mr Olds said.
