Anyone disillusioned with the big four banks following the Hayne Royal Commission can find a ready alternative in Heritage Bank, which has topped Australia to take out the Bank of the Year title in the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards announced last night.
As a customer-owned bank, Heritage has a proud history of working hard for its customers and that focus has been recognised with this national accolade.
Heritage topped the list for customer satisfaction, beating out all other Australian banks including the big four.
“We are thrilled to take out the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards title of Bank of the Year,” Heritage Bank CEO Peter Lock said.
“At Heritage, our top priority is to give our customers great value and a great experience. Unlike the listed banks, our goal is not to make huge profits to pay big dividends to shareholding investors.
“Our customers are our owners, and we retain all the profits we make, so it is rewarding and validating that they think so highly of the products and services they receive from Heritage.
“This award is largely a result of the passion and dedication shown every day by our staff, so I would like to thank and congratulate my colleagues on helping Heritage win this award.”
Respected independent research company Roy Morgan collects customer satisfaction rankings throughout the year and announces awards in a variety of industries.
The Bank of the Year award covers all banks, including the big four, other listed institutions as well as the customer-owned and mutual sector.
Roy Morgan held its Customer Satisfaction Awards presentation in Melbourne last night (Wednesday, 20 February) with Chief Customer Officer Kevin Potter representing Heritage in accepting the Bank of the Year accolade.
