Heritage manager wins prestigious Queensland award

Heritage Building Society’s General Manager Retail Services Paul Francis has taken out the state’s top management excellence award.

Mr Francis was named Queensland’s Professional Manager of the Year in the Australian Institute of Management’s prestigious Management Excellence Awards gala ceremony held at the Sofitel Hotel in Brisbane last Friday night.

Mr Francis took out the title ahead of eight other finalists, following presentations to the judging panel by all finalists in Brisbane on Friday. Mr Francis won through to the state finals after taking out the Toowoomba regional title in October.

Heritage CEO John Minz praised the efforts and commitment of Mr Francis, who today also celebrates his 17th anniversary of starting work at Heritage.

“The Professional Manager of the Year category celebrates innovation, strategic thinking and visionary leadership, and recognises managers who have had an extraordinary impact on their organisation's financial success through forward-thinking strategies,” Mr Minz said

“I can think of no-one who fits those criteria better than Paul. This award is fitting recognition for someone who lives the Heritage culture everyday and is an inspiration to all of us.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Paul as part of the Heritage family and he deserves congratulations for this outstanding achievement.”
