Hard-working volunteers from across Queensland will be rewarded for their efforts with more than $14,000 in prizes when Heritage Bank’s popular Volunteer of The Year Award returns in 2015.
Nominations and voting for the Queensland-wide awards will open to the public from 1 January with new prizes up for grabs.
The awards are now in their third year and continue to grow in popularity.
People can nominate a volunteer for their efforts in the community, and the winners are then determined by a public vote.
Heritage CEO Mr John Minz said the awards were a great way for people to show their appreciation for the countless hours put in by volunteers.
“As a community-minded bank we are pleased to highlight the exceptional services provided by volunteers and their organisations,” Mr Minz said.
“There are over one million Queenslanders who give up their time to volunteer. Thanks to their efforts, many services and groups can continue to support and improve the lives of those around them.
“Participation in the Heritage Bank Volunteer of the Year Awards is easy, as people can nominate and vote via the Heritage Bank website at heritage.com.au/volunteer or Heritage’s Facebook page.”
Nominations close on 31 January, while voting will remain open for an extra week and close on 6 February 2015. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, 10 February 2015.
