Mr Kerry J Betros, Chairman

Mr Betros is Managing Director of Betros Bros Holdings Pty Ltd and associated companies, Darling Downs based wholesalers and retailers, established in 1938. He graduated from DDIAE (now USQ) with a Bachelor of Business majoring in management and accounting. He has previously served on various other boards and organisations and was awarded the Centenary of Federation Medal for distinguished service to the community. Mr Betros has been a Director of Heritage since 1991. He was the inaugural Chairman of Heritage’s Finance Committee, and has been Chairman of the Internal Audit Committee and has served on a number of other committees. He became Chairman of Directors on 21 June 2012.
Peter Lock, Chief Executive Officer

Mr Peter Lock has more than 30 years' experience in the financial services industry spanning insurance, institutional banking, business development, business banking and corporate banking. He has held senior management roles at the Bank of Melbourne, St George Bank, and the Commonwealth Bank, following a career with the National Australia Bank. He has also run his own corporate advisory firm. Mr Lock is a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has a keen interest in leadership and community, and has been part of numerous capacity-building committees in a mentoring capacity. Mr Lock holds a Bachelor of Business and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Australia.

Senior Executives

Mr Bill Armagnacq, Company Secretary / Assistant CEO

Mr Bill Armagnacq has been with Heritage since May 2003. Prior to that he was company secretary of Ergon Energy Corporation Limited and other group companies, and a partner of KPMG. Mr Armagnacq is a director of Empire Theatres Pty Ltd and a Councillor of The Glennie School, and was Chairman of the Council from 2012 to 2016. He has been a director of a number of companies and held similar roles in not-for-profit organisations. Mr Armagnacq holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (FCA) and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD).

Mr Arjan Bloemer, Chief Operating Officer

Mr Arjan Bloemer joined Heritage as Chief Operating Officer in May, 2018. Originally from Amsterdam, Mr Bloemer began his career with Dutch bank MeesPierson before becoming Head of Operations for Europe’s first 100% digital bank. He then moved into consulting, first in the Netherlands, followed by banking roles with the Royal Bank of Scotland in London and then consulting in Australia with Ernst and Young. He was Managing Director at Accenture Australia from early 2017, before the move to Heritage Bank. Mr Bloemer has worked on major retail banking transformation projects for a number of institiutions, including implementation of robotics, artificial intelligence tools, chatbots and Lean Six Sigma process optimisation.

Ms Jane Calder, Chief Product and Marketing Officer

Ms Jane Calder joined Heritage in 2008 and is responsible for customer marketing and sponsorship, digital banking, product development and portfolio management, customer experience and internal and external communications. Prior to Heritage, Ms Calder worked in senior executive, management and senior level consulting roles across organisations in Australia and the United Kingdom including MBF (now BUPA), Newcastle Permanent Building Society, PFour Consulting in London, and BT Funds Management. Ms Calder holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Management and Chemical Sciences from the University of Manchester (UMIST).

Mr Peter Cavanagh, General Manager Emerging Business

Mr Peter Cavanagh has worked across the spectrum of retail financial services since the late 1980s. Over the course of his career, he has built a wealth of experience across life insurance, superannuation, stockbroking, funds management and banking with companies including Royal & Sun Alliance Life, UBS, Deutsche Bank and Westpac. Mr Cavanagh joined Heritage in 2006 in the newly created position of Chief Strategy Officer. In June 2012, he was appointed General Manager Emerging Business Streams. The business now supports iconic corporate partners including Qantas, Australia Post, MasterCard and Optus to achieve their own strategic objectives in the area of cards and virtual payment technologies.

Mr Wayne Marchant, Chief Information Officer

Mr Wayne Marchant was appointed Chief Information Officer in December 2016 after initially joining the Bank as Interim CIO, consulting to Heritage through 451 Consulting. Mr Marchant has more than 26 years in IT management across large and medium businesses in a diverse range of industry sectors. Before joining Heritage, Mr Marchant was responsible for leading significant transformational change as the Regional CIO for Billabong and at Department of Main Roads through 451 Consulting. He has also held Senior IT roles at Flight Centre and Woolworths.

Mr Kevin Potter, Chief Customer Officer

Mr Kevin Potter joined Heritage in March 2017 as Chief Operating Officer before moving into the role of Chief Customer Officer in April 2018.  As Chief Customer Officer,  Mr Potter is responsible for the customer facing aspects of business through Heritage's retail branches including the community branch model, business banking, customer contact centre and  broker distribution channel. Mr Potter has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry and prior to Heritage held senior management roles with Suncorp and National Australia Bank encompassing risk, sales, distribution, product and projects.

Mr Darren Stephens, Chief People Officer

Mr Stephens joined Heritage in December 2016 as Chief People Officer and is responsible for the bank's overall human resources strategy, leading the HR function across recruitment, learning and development, employee relations, health and safety, organisational development and change management. He has more than 20 years’ experience in HR, most recently in his own management consultancy in Sydney, and prior to that in senior HR roles at Westpac and St George Bank. He has also worked with Sydney Water and in various roles within the New South Wales public sector.

Mr Paul Williams, Chief Financial Officer

Mr Paul Williams joined Heritage in 2003 and is currently the Chief Strategy and Investment Officer, as well as Interim Chief Financial Officer for Heritage Bank. He is responsible for financial accounting, analysis and reporting, business and operational strategy formulation and implementation, capital markets and financial risk management activities. Mr Williams has more than 25 years’ experience in the finance and property industries having previously worked in Australia and South Africa for various banks as well as global advisory and commercial real estate services firms including CB Richard Ellis. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Queensland, a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge in the UK, an MBA from the University of Southern Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from the Finance and Securities Institute of Australia.
