Community spirit and generosity were on full display at the 26th annual People First Bank Golf Day in Toowoomba, raising an impressive $64,000 for local charities and community groups.

Held in November 2024, the event’s proceeds were distributed to six deserving organisations in the first half of 2025, helping them continue their vital community support.

The 2024 Golf Day also marked a memorable milestone as the first held under the People First Bank name – reflecting the Bank’s wider presence in communities right across Australia.

Since its inception, the Charity Golf Day has raised more than $1.1 million, supporting over 130 grassroots organisations through funding that drives real change in local communities.

The 2024 beneficiaries include:

  • $24,000 to Teen Challenge QLD to assist in the refurbishment of kitchens and bathrooms used in their facility.
  • $12,000 to Playford Women’s Shed, SA, to replace the existing floor covering at the local Adelaide facility, making it easier to clean and maintain, and more hygienic.
  • $10,000 to YMCA Warwick, QLD, to assist with the purchase of additional fitness equipment expand its community program offerings and provide resources for its “free” Cancer Survivors Program and various school programs.
  • $10,000 to Zen Tea Lounge, NSW, supporting the implementation of the Building Strong Emotional Resilience in Children Against Sexual and Domestic Violence project in South Western Sydney. 
  • $5,000 to Set Free Care, QLD, supporting a number of their programs including Meal Program and Food Assistance, Women's Supported Accommodation Program, and Disaster Relief.
  • $3,000 to Toowoomba PCYC, QLD, for providing assistance on the day and to support its youth and community programs, services and facilities.
