New accolades for Heritage and People’s Choice

We’re excited to announce that this year we have been awarded two more major accolades.

We’ve not only taken out two honours in the prestigious 2023 Money Magazine Consumer Finance Awards, but also been recognised as an Employer of Choice in The Australian Business Awards 2023.

In the Money Magazine Consumer Finance Awards, Heritage Bank was awarded Customer-Owned Institution of the Year for having the highest overall composite ratings scores across product and features, customer service and digital experience. Only full-service customer-owned banks are eligible to win this premier award. Heritage was also awarded Bank of the Year – Customer Service as the banking provider that achieved the highest overall ratings scores for customer service.

In other award news, a deliberate focus on creating a positive workplace culture has seen Heritage and People’s Choice named an Employer of Choice at The Australian Business Awards 2023.

Heritage Bank and People’s Choice Credit Union came together as a merged organisation on 1 March 2023. A key focus right from that first day has been to create a fantastic workplace culture and a rewarding experience for all employees.

This included launching a new online employee recognition program called Shine on the very first day as a merged organisation.

The positive nature of the culture is shown by the fact that employees have already submitted around 5,000 pieces of recognition via the Shine online program in just its first six months of operation.   

This is the first Employer of Choice award for Heritage and People’s Choice as a new organisation. However, Heritage Bank had an impressive 12-year history of receiving this award and it’s something we’ve been passionate about for a long time.
