Heritage Nanango announces community grant recipients

Twenty-five community organisations from Nanango and surrounds have received much-needed funding boost.

Great things happen when the community comes together - and Heritage Nanango Community Branch, together with local organisations, are proving just that. 

In February, Heritage Nanango and joint venture partner Heritage Nanango Community Funding Ltd (HNCF) hosted its annual sponsorship evening, celebrating 25 community organisations that received grants over the past year. These funds have made a real difference in Nanango, supporting local events and providing essential equipment and services including defibrillators and a defensive driving course for students. 

This year’s event marked another significant milestone as the first grants night since Heritage Nanango revamped its sponsorship program, making funding accessible year-round. 

Now, instead of waiting for a specific application period, organisations have access to ongoing support and can apply for funding whenever they need it. 

Since opening in 2001 through the support of 165 local residents, Heritage Nanango Community Branch has given over $5 million back into the community through grants and sponsorships alone. Through ongoing support and funding, they’re helping to bring meaningful projects to life, strengthening connections, and making a lasting impact in Nanango.

Heritage Nanango Community Branch Manager Lochlan Ezzy said, “Together with HNCF, we’re thrilled to support some amazing local organisations through our community grants program.

“We’re only able to give back thanks to people doing their banking with us – it’s a true community effort and a fantastic example of locals supporting local.”  

The 2024 grant recipients include:

    • Nanango State High School - defensive driving course for students; and a pressure cleaner for recycling bins.
