Funds raised from the sale of Heritage Bank’s annual calendar have given a much-needed boost to Toowoomba cancer charity Hope Horizons.
Heritage recently presented a donation of $3,215 to Hope Horizons which provides free allied health services provided for those living with cancer in the region.
Heritage Bank Area Branch Manager Sharma Haller said, “We are absolutely delighted to join with the wider community to give back to worthy recipients like Hope Horizons.
“They make a hugely positively impact to those living with cancer, by taking away some of the financial pressure and making it easier to access a range of services from psychotherapy and counselling to music therapy, dental services and much more."
Hope Horizons Centre Manager Peter Turnbull said, “It costs us $100 to deliver every service to our clients.
“It’s very comforting knowing we have the funds to deliver another 32 services thanks to the donation from Heritage Bank.”
In a much-loved tradition that began in 1982, Heritage selects a historically significant Queensland home to feature on its printed calendar each year. Copies are made available to the public for a gold coin donation, with proceeds donated to a number of charities around southern Queensland and New South Wales. Since donations began in 2006, over $383,000 has been distributed to 73 community organisations.
