An unexpected holiday to Sri Lanka later this year is something to look forward to for small business owner Nathan Findlay after winning a promotion through the Heritage Credits rewards program.
Heritage Bank ran a Redeem To Win promotion through its Heritage Credits rewards program late last year and Nathan, who has banked with the branch in Toowoomba Plaza Shopping Centre for more than 30 years, was drawn out as the winner.
Staff from the Toowoomba Plaza branch phoned Nathan to advise him he had won the luxury five-day holiday at the Amari Galle, Sri Lanka plus a $2000 Flight Centre voucher and the news came as a massive shock.
Mainly because his wife Vicki was the one who redeemed their loyalty points through Heritage Credits.
Nathan and Vicki have now planned to take the trip in September or October this year, with the Sri Lanka sojourn to be their first overseas trip since their honeymoon at the Maldives in 2012.
“That was a total surprise, probably because I wasn’t aware of it,” Nathan said of initially finding out about winning the trip.
“I’m looking forward to the break … to some place I’ve never been.”
Nathan operates Unreel Electrical in Toowoomba, so a break is certainly well-earned for the small business owner, especially as the summer heat can make working conditions tough.
Staff at the Toowoomba Plaza branch were thrilled for Nathan and were keen to see some happy snaps from his trip.
