Heritage Bank customers now have even more payment choices at their disposal following the launch of Samsung Pay announced today.

With Samsung Pay, Heritage Bank customers can use their compatible Samsung device to make secure purchases in-store in Australia and overseas.

Heritage Bank CEO Peter Lock said the bank was thrilled to introduce another contactless payment option for its customers.

“We’re delighted to build on our expertise in the digital payments space by launching Samsung Pay at Heritage,” Mr Lock said.

“Our customers are looking for quick, convenient and secure payment options, particularly those that allow them to use devices they already own.”

When making purchases using Samsung Pay, card numbers are not stored on the device and are never shared with the merchant. Instead, the physical card number is replaced with a ‘token’ to pay transactions.

“Samsung Pay is a fantastic addition to the current suite of digital solutions and services we offer including our limited release HOVA payments band and partnerships with iconic companies such as Qantas, Optus and Australia Post,” Mr Lock said.

“We’ve embedded the technology into our systems to create the virtual tokens that replace card numbers for Samsung Pay and other digital wallet services. We’re excited to continue the momentum and expand our digital wallet offering by introducing other products and services in the future.”
