Helping sick kids this Christmas
In the lead up to Christmas, Australia’s leading customer-owned bank, Heritage and People’s Choice, is teaming up with Starlight Children’s Foundation to bring happiness to sick children across the country.

In the lead up to Christmas, Australia’s leading customer-owned bank, Heritage and People’s Choice, is teaming up with Starlight Children’s Foundation to bring happiness to sick children across the country.
The newly created mutual bank is inviting its 730,000 members nationwide to make a donation to provide fun, laughter and joy to young people in hospitals and communities right around Australia.
The Christmas Appeal is taking place online and also on the streets, with more than 90 Heritage- and People’s Choice-branded branches – in Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and the Northern Territory – being brightened with Christmas trees and decorations.
Some 2,000 Heritage and People’s Choice employees are also being encouraged to participate.
“This is one of our first major fundraising activities by the newly merged organisation and we couldn’t think of a better charity to help than Starlight Children’s Foundation because of the brilliant work they do,” said Maria-Ann Camilleri, Chief Member Officer.
“Working together we can make a real difference, and what could be better than bringing some joy to a young person dealing with a serious illness?
Gift Cards the Go
Starlight’s years of experience has shown that kids love shopping, and only they know what they really want.
That’s why Heritage and People’s Choice is asking members to donate gift cards from suitable organisation such as EB Games, JB HiFi, Smiggle, Cotton On, Westfield, Target, Rebel and Amazon.
Members are also able to make online gift purchase or online cash donations.
“Last year Starlight created well over a million positive experiences for sick and hospitalised young people and their families. From Captain Starlight creating positive distraction for kids in hospital and remote health clinics, to providing support and entertainment online and granting life-changing wishes, Starlight brings fun, laughter and joy to create happiness when and where it’s needed most." says Doreen Smith, Corporate Partnerships Executive at Starlight.
“The support of Heritage and People’s Choice and this wonderful Christmas Appeal is going to help us do the same or even more in the year ahead and we are going to make sure that every dollar is going to be put to great use.”
All donations of $2 or more are tax deductable.
