Heritage Bank to open new branch in OakeyHeritage Bank will open a new full-service branch in Oakey by mid-year, CEO Mr John Minz announced today.
Mr Minz said the decision was a strong vote of confidence in Oakey and would offer the town’s residents access to the full range of Heritage’s personal and business banking services.
The new branch will be located at 94 Campbell Street, part of the IGA complex. The aim is to have it open for business around the end of June this year.
The decision comes after unforeseen circumstance forced Heritage to close its mini branch in Oakey in March.
“This is fantastic news for Heritage and for Oakey. It will create four new permanent jobs and provide an extremely attractive banking alternative,” Mr Minz said.
“The new branch will enable us to offer our existing customers a wider service. But we will also be able to provide all residents with access to the benefits which come through banking with a customer-owned organisation that puts People first.
“We investigated our options after the unexpected closure of our Oakey mini branch and decided the best way forward was to open a full new branch.
“Oakey is a strong town and we are confident that residents will support the Heritage philosophy and take advantage of the great interest rates, full product range and superior service that we offer.”
Mr Minz said Heritage recognised the need to provide existing customers in Oakey with banking services until the new branch was completed.
As a result, Heritage will be opening a temporary branch at 98 Campbell Street, also part of the IGA complex, to provide banking services until the new permanent branch opens.
The aim is to have the temporary branch operating this week.
The existing Heritage ATM will remain in place at the Oakey Discount Drug Store for the time being.
