Heritage Bank offers $16,000 in scholarships for USQ students
Heritage Bank is offering students a huge helping hand in their studies – and their careers – with applications now open for four scholarships at the University of Southern Queensland worth a total of $16,000.
Interest students need to act quickly, with applications for the 2013 intake closing soon.
Heritage each year offers the following four scholarships:
- the Don Stevens Scholarship in Commerce
- the Geoff McClune Memorial Scholarship in Human Resource Management
- the Gary Moor Memorial Scholarship in Marketing
- the Len Ludgate Memorial Scholarship in Information Technology
The scholarship awardees receive $4000 in two instalments, as well as the chance to complete work experience at Heritage Bank.
Heritage Bank Chief Executive Officer John Minz encouraged students to put up theior hands for consideration.
"Heritage and USQ share a very special relationship. We are both home-grown success stories who make a major contribution to the fabric of life in the Toowoomba region. And we both value the communities that we serve very strongly," Mr Minz said.
"Through these scholarships, our goal is to give our young people the chance to learn, grow and prosper right here at USQ."
"In giving added incentives for students to choose USQ, Heritage supports the prosperity of the community overall. USQ is a major contributor to the vitality and prosperity of the region. A vibrant USQ is good for the whole region, not only for the economic stimulus that the university provides, but in the contribution it makes to the skills and capacity of the region's workforce."
Applications for the four Heritage USQ scholarships close on Friday 26 October.
