Heritage Supporting Flood Victims

Heritage has pledged to work with its members who are having financial difficulty meeting their loan and credit card commitments due to the floods.

Assistant CEO, Bill Armagnacq said that under its Hardship Relief Policy, Heritage has a comprehensive policy in place for all borrowers (including Members with credit card, mortgage loan, personal loan or business banking loans) to assist them when they face financial difficulties.

Heritage will assess each application for hardship relief on its merits and will work with members to develop the best solution possible. This could include any one of the following options:

  • postpone payments for a specified period of time, but keep the same length of loan contract;
  • extend the period of the credit contract and reduce the amount of each payment due under the contract accordingly; or
  • extend the period of the loan contract and postpone payments for a specified period of time.

"It's going to take time for the clean up to finish and for businesses to start operating again, in the meantime we encourage any Members who are having financial difficulty meeting their repayments to call us" Mr Armagnacq said.

He said all staff at Heritage were shocked by the extent of the flooding and expressed their support to everyone who is dealing with the disaster.

"For over 135 years, Heritage has been putting People first and we want to do what we can to help the people in need."
