Heritage continuing to support flood victims
Heritage Building Society has, as part of its contribution to the current flood crisis, pledged $100,000 to the Premier’s Flood Appeal to help victims of Queensland’s recent flooding.
Chairman Brian Carter said Heritage has members throughout Queensland, many of whom have been affected by the floods in some way.
“Our thoughts are with all Queenslanders during this very difficult time” he said.
Acting CEO Bill Armagnacq said “For over 135 years, Heritage has been putting People first and we want to do what we can to help the people in need get back on their feet.
“This disaster has also impacted on our staff with some losing their cars, many experiencing flooding throughout homes and some losing businesses.
“Our People first philosophy extends to our staff and we will be talking with anyone who has been personally impacted by the floods to see how we can help” he said.
Heritage recently reminded members of their ongoing hardship policy that helps those who are financially struggling as a result of the floods and encourages members to contact 1800 222 030 during business hours to discuss their situation.
Mr Carter urged everyone to dig deep and make a donation to the flood appeal.
“Heritage Building Society is proud of its commitment to supporting the community, it is what we do and is at the heart of who we are.
“I encourage everyone to make a donation, no matter how small, to help the victims of this disaster” he said.
Donations can be made to the Premier’s Flood Appeal on 1800 173 349 or online at www.qld.gov.au/floods.
