If the merchant participates in Visa secure, a pop-up window will be displayed, in order for you to enter your One Time Password (OTP). Your OTP will then be verified and your payment authorised. In online stores that are not yet participating in Visa secure, your Visa card will work as normal.
All Heritage Visa cards are registered for Visa secure. You will need to make sure we have your up to date mobile phone number, to allow us to send your OTP.
Visa secure provides you with an OTP to protect your online transactions, just like you use your PIN at an ATM. Here are the steps:
Select the goods or services you want from a Visa secure online store and proceed to the payment page.
Enter your Visa card number and the online store connects with Heritage to check whether your card is secured with Visa secure.
Heritage initiates a pop-up window on your computer screen and sends an OTP to your mobile.
Enter your OTP in the window.
Your payment is authorised and your order is placed. It’s that simple!

Use a secure web browser
Use a secure browser - look for an "s" after the "http" in the web page address or URL.
Keep your One Time Password secret
Never disclose your One Time Password and only enter your OTP into the pop-up box.

Compare products and prices before you buy - click around to find your item at the best price.
Protect your card details
Only give your Visa card details when making purchases - do not provide them for any other reason.
Check delivery and return policies
Before completing an online transaction, read the delivery and return policies on the online store’s home page. Find out if you can return items and who bears the cost.
