At Heritage, we’re always looking out for the communities we serve, and I’m delighted to announce that we’re doing that again this year by supporting the 2020 Loads of Love Christmas Appeal.
On the 9 Nov 2020, the Loads of Love Christmas Appeal was launched, in partnership with Lifeline Darling Downs and South-West Queensland, to assist families in need across southern Queensland this Christmas.
The appeal invites community members to fill special collection bags with non-perishable food and personal items to be distributed to households in need over Christmas.
We’ve been supporting this appeal since 2015 and it’s one of the things that makes me so proud to be a part of the Heritage family.
Each year I hear amazing stories of how staff members and customers bring back bag after bag of donations, simply to give joy to people doing it tough at Christmas time. I know many of the people who make donations don’t have a lot to spare themselves, so to see them digging deep to help someone else is truly heartwarming.
All of our Queensland branches, except Gympie and those on the Sunshine Coast, will serve as collection points for the Loads of Love bags. The Gympie and Sunshine Coast branches will instead be involved with the similar Trees of Hope appeal, run in that region by The Shack at Nambour.

How can I get involved?
To get involved, just drop into one of our participating Heritage Bank branches to pick up a red Loads of Love bag, fill the bag with non-perishable food and personal items and then return it to the branch. Your donation will be collected from the branch by a charitable organisation and distributed to families in need.
All Heritage Bank branches excluding Sunshine Coast branches and Gympie are participating. The branches on the Sunshine Coast and Gympie are taking part in Trees of Hope, a similar Christmas appeal.
What should I give?
Here is a list of non-perishable shopping items that will make sure your support will make an impact.
Note: No fresh food or toys. Please ensure all non-perishable food is in original packaging so recipients can check ingredients in case of allergies and intolerances.
How will the food get distributed?
These donations will be distributed through community service organisations to families in need throughout Southern Queensland.
